Chief Minister N. Rangasamy along with Ministers and MLAs attended the ‘At Home’ reception organised by Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, on the occasion of Independence Day 2026 held at Lok Niwas in Puducherry on on Saturday.

Independence Day celebrations were held at the Lok Niwas on Saturday. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan hoisted the national flag in the morning and hosted At Home (reception) event on the lawns of Lok Niwas in the evening.Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Pro-tem Speaker A. Anbalagan, Home Minister A. Namassivayam, Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan and other senior officials attended the reception. Artists from different States performed cultural events.Independence Day celebrations were also held at various institutions and public sector undertakings in Puducherry. Director of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Vir Singh Negi hoisted the national flag and addressed the staff. Similar celebrations were held at the Pondicherry University where Vice Chancellor P. Prakash Babu hoisted the national flag and addressed the students and faculty.
