Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have commenced the sorting and counting of votes at Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State.

The exercise began shortly after the conclusion of voting in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.

INEC officials were seen sorting the ballot papers according to the political parties and candidates before counting the votes cast by eligible voters at the polling unit.

Party agents and other stakeholders were present to observe the process and follow the announcement of the results.

The sorting and counting of votes mark the next stage of the electoral process after accreditation and voting, with polling officials expected to record the results before transmitting them in line with INEC’s procedures.
