Dozens of residents were seen scooping fuel after a tanker spilt its contents along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, close to the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road.
Videos from the scene showed men and women rushing to the area with buckets, jerrycans and other containers to collect the spilt fuel.
Some of the residents were seen scooping the petroleum product from drainage channels and other areas where it had accumulated, despite the risk of fire or explosion.
