Ukrainian FP-5 “Flamingo“ missiles struck industrial aerospace enterprises in Samara, Russia, on Saturday, Aug. 15, amid concurrent drone attacks in occupied Crimea. Samara region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported a missile strike on an unnamed industrial facility in the city. Mayor Ivan Noskov stated that the city’s industrial infrastructure sustained localized damage.
Open-source intelligence analysts from the Astra and Exilenova+ Telegram channels reviewed images of the site and identified the location as the shared industrial zone of the Aviakor aviation plant and the Progress Space Rocket Centre.
Progress, a subsidiary of the Russian state corporation Roscosmos, manufactures Soyuz-2 carrier rockets and space satellites. Aviakor produces, repairs, and maintains aircraft and aviation components.
