The employee is recovering at home after being released from hospital following the Friday morning attack. Police say the worker and suspect did not know each other.
An on-duty TTC electrical worker was injured in an “unprovoked” stabbing Friday morning in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood.
The worker was stabbed shortly after 8 a.m. “in an unprovoked attack” off TTC property near the Yonge and Bloor streets area while they were on a break, the transit agency’s CEO, Mandeep Lali, said in a statement on social media Friday afternoon.
A 47-year-old man was arrested on scene and charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
An early-morning stabbing in North York left one man with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Police responded to the stabbing after 5 p.m. in the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East area.
Police said they responded to a call of a person with a knife in the area of Goodwood Park Court and Dawes Road late Sunday night.
Woman charged with aggravated assault, robbery, second suspect sought
The man was transported to a local hospital via emergency run, according to Toronto Paramedics.
