MANILA, Philippines — Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon has maintained that the prosecution team does not care about the impact of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial to her chances of winning the presidency in 2028, as their goal is to secure a conviction from the Senate impeachment court.
Ridon, a member of the House of Representatives’ prosecution panel said this on Friday after being asked at a press briefing whether they expect Duterte’s survey numbers to plummet further as the impeachment trial continues.
Last Wednesday, polling firm OCTA Research released a survey where a hypothetical tandem of former vice president and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and Senator Raffy Tulfo gets a slight edge over another possible tandem between Duterte and Senator Imee Marcos, should they run for president and vice president in the 2028 national elections.
