It's a common experience for French learners to find their language corrected when having a conversation - but how do you react when it happens to you?
Obviously in a language class you expect to be corrected - but in France this can also frequently happening when you're speaking French to a colleague, friend, neighbour or even the staff at your local boulangerie.
Whether it's an incorrect noun gender, a badly conjugated verb or some dodgy pronunciation, the French person will intervene to correct your mistake.
Some people welcome this - viewing it as a free language class - while for others the habit is rude and unwarranted. Some even report that it ruins their confidence when speaking French.
