South Korea's Incheon airport has become the busiest in the world for international passenger traffic for the first time, according to new data.

Located about 48 kilometres from the capital Seoul, it acts as the main gateway to the country.

The airport handled 38.39 million international passengers in the first six months of 2026, according to preliminary data from the Airports Council International (ACI).
