Commuters using the Old Mumbai Highway between Miyapur Cross Road and Alwyn Cross Road are likely to face traffic congestion for the next six months as construction of a major flyover and underpasses gets under way.The Cyberabad Traffic Police on Friday (August 14, 2026) issued an advisory in view of construction being taken up by the Project-II Wing of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation in the limits of Miyapur Traffic Police Station.The project includes a six-lane bi-directional flyover from Miyapur Cross Road to Alwyn Cross Road, a three-lane uni-directional underpass from Alwyn Cross Road towards Hafeezpet and another three-lane stretch connecting Bachupally to Miyapur Cross Road.The traffic police said congestion was expected, particularly during peak hours, for around 180 days from August 14. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.The Cyberabad Traffic Police appealed to motorists to cooperate with personnel deployed in the area and follow traffic diversions and instructions during the construction period.
