Paris, France | August 2026 – Novaspace’s latest In-Orbit Services Markets report projects that emerging in-orbit services will generate approximately $3 billion in cumulative service revenues over the next decade, highlighting the early development of a more flexible, resilient, and sustainable space economy.
Government and defense organizations are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the market by accelerating technology maturity and creating early demand. Defense agencies, in particular, are increasingly exploring Dynamic Space Operations, with satellite refueling emerging as a strategic capability to enhance mission agility and operational resilience.

Satellite refueling is expected to become the largest revenue-generating segment over the next decade, representing a $1.2 billion market opportunity. Backpacking life-extension services follow at an estimated $860 million. Together, these capabilities reflect growing demand for solutions that maximize satellite value, extend operational lifespans, and increase mission flexibility.
