Escorts Kubota Limited on Friday introduced two new tractor models, the Kubota MU4502 at 45 horsepower and the MU5002 at 50 HP, both carrying an industry-first 8-year transferable warranty, a feature the company says signals its confidence in product durability and build quality. The launch targets the 41–50 HP segment, which the company describes as one of the largest and fastest-growing categories in the Indian tractor market. Both models are priced as pan-India offerings suited for landholdings of 5 acres or more. The transferable warranty, meaning it stays with the tractor even after ownership changes, is positioned as a resale-value enhancer for farmers and custom-hiring operators. Rajan Chugh, Chief Officer of the Tractor Division, framed the launch around earning potential rather than raw horsepower, noting that the tractors are aimed at contract farming operators and custom-hiring businesses.Technically, both models run on the Kubota KQP4 Japanese engine paired with a 12F + 4R Multi-Speed Synchromesh Gearbox. The tractors also feature Pompa Lift with Dual Stabilizer Spring (DSS) Technology for consistent implement depth on uneven terrain, full LED lighting, a flat-deck platform, and balancer shaft technology to reduce vibration. A reverse PTO supports attachments such as rotavators and straw reapers. The MU4502 and MU5002 expand the existing MU range, which now spans five models: MU4201, MU4501, MU4502, MU5002 and MU5502, all under the premium Kubota brand. Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in India: Farmtrac, Powertrac and Kubota, covering entry-premium, value and premium segments respectively. The stock was trading at ₹3,112.50 on the NSE on Friday, up 0.62 per cent from the previous close of ₹3,093.40, with a total market capitalisation of approximately ₹34,822 crore. The stock has underperformed year-to-date, down about 18.5 per cent against the NIFTY MNC index’s 10.2 per cent gain.Published on August 14, 2026
