North West Businessman, Suliman Carrim, will again not appear before the Madlanga Commission.
Controversial North West businessman Suliman Carrim is expected back before the Madlanga Commission on Friday, four months after he allegedly collapsed at a gym following a heart attack.
Carrim’s testimony has been postponed five times since April, with his lawyers repeatedly citing his medical condition.
However, the delays have come under increasing scrutiny after evidence leaders presented information indicating that Carrim was seen at a Cape Town restaurant during a period when he was reportedly too ill to testify.
The commission has now drawn a line under further postponements, ruling that Carrim must undergo an independent medical assessment to establish whether he is genuinely unable to appear.
