Suliman Carrim will appear before the Madlanga Commission.

After missing his scheduled appearance and becoming the centre of a medical controversy, North West businessman Suliman Carrim is now expected to testify before the Madlanga Commission on August 14.

Chair, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, ruled that any request for him to be excused must be backed by an assessment from an independent medical professional, with the report submitted for the Commission’s consideration.

“The medical examination should take place by no later than August 3, 2026,” Madlanga said.

Carrim’s appearance before the inquiry was pushed into the spotlight after his scheduled testimony was disrupted by his hospitalisation, which prevented him from taking the witness stand when expected.
