The Danube River near Ruse has fallen by another 3 centimeters over the past 24 hours, reaching minus 121 centimeters below the conditional zero, according to the latest data from the Executive Agency for Research and Maintenance of the Danube River.
Water levels along the Bulgarian section remain unstable. Novo Selo recorded a 1-centimeter increase, while all other monitoring stations registered declines of between 1 and 3 centimeters.
All restrictions on vessel drafts across the Bulgarian section of the Danube remain in effect because of the low water levels.
Navigation has also been affected by a vessel that ran aground in the Batin area yesterday. According to the River Supervision Directorate, passage through the area is currently severely restricted. A vessel is expected to reach the site today in an attempt to assist the stranded ship.
The latest measurements indicate that the difficult hydrological situation along the Bulgarian stretch of the Danube continues.
