Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mr. Olatunji Disu, has disclosed that preparations for the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables had reached the final pre-training stage, with comprehensive training programmes being developed around an improved curriculum and international best practices.

He also reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening counterterrorism, community protection, human rights and the rule of law.

Disu spoke on Wednesday, in Washington, D.C., while representing the Nigeria Police Force at the 2nd United States-Nigeria Country of Particular Concern, CPC, Joint Working Group meeting.

The meeting reviewed progress recorded under the CPC Joint Working Group Roadmap during the April-June 2026 reporting period and explored opportunities for deeper cooperation between Nigeria and the United States in tackling security and law-enforcement challenges.
