A first-round pick in 2024, Arnold was released by the Lions on June 29, less than a week after he was arrested on charges of kidnapping and robbery.Arnold voluntarily surrendered himself to authorities June 24 at Orient Road Jail in Tampa, Fla. He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, which carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison.Arnold was initially held without bond, but Judge Christopher C. Sabella set Arnold’s bail at $1 million less than a week later. Sabella also denied the prosecution’s attempt to require Arnold to wear an ankle monitor after Arnold’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, argued the mandate would have effectively prevented him from playing in the NFL.Despite the pending legal trouble, Arnold garnered interest from multiple NFL teams. He had visits with the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants.Arnold was a standout cornerback at Alabama before the Lions moved up in the draft to select him in the first round in 2024. In two seasons with the Lions, he played in 24 games and recorded one interception.
