POLICE are investigating the death of a 39-year-old Princes Town man whose decomposing body was discovered inside his home after neighbours detected a stench coming from his house.The deceased has been identified as Anil Ramdial, also known as 'Greg', of Garth Road.Police said that around 7.30 a.m. on Monday, two of Ramdial's neighbours detected an odour emanating from his home and went to investigate. Upon checking inside the house, they found the body of Ramdial in an advanced state of decomposition.The police were contacted and around 8.15 a.m., WPC John-Lee, PC Harry and PC Sanatan of the Princes Town Police Station responded.Officers were taken to the living room where they observed Ramdial's body seated in a chair.Police said that because of the advanced state of decomposition, investigators were unable to determine at the scene whether there were any marks of violence on the body.Ramdial's employer told investigators that he had last seen Ramdial alive around 7.30 p.m. on August 5 when he dropped him home after work.Police were also told that around 5.45 a.m. on August 7, Ramdial contacted his employer via WhatsApp and said he was feeling unwell and would not be going to work. Investigators were told he was not known to have been suffering from any illness.A post-mortem examination is expected to be done at the Forensic Science Centre, Federation Park, this week.WPC John-Lee is continuing investigations.
