The US military on Tuesday announced plans to establish Task Force Falcon Strike, the first-ever multi-domain, multinational attack drone task force, as the United States expands its use of unmanned systems across the Middle East.
The new task force will employ one-way attack drones and other unmanned systems operating “from above, on, and below the sea,” according to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM). The systems will be operated by US personnel and military support staff from regional partners, with the goal of integrating allied capabilities into a unified regional force. CENTCOM said it has begun consulting with and formally inviting regional partners to join the initiative.
