MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday warned the public against “politicking” and “mind conditioning” ahead of the 2028 national elections, following a survey showing a hypothetical tandem of Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and Sen. Raffy Tulfo in a tight race against a hypothetical tandem of Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos.

Palace press officer Claire Castro urged Filipinos to be critical of early election surveys, saying the data could be used by political camps to manipulate public perception.

“There are decent survey firms, but there are also survey firms that may be used for politicking, creating mind conditioning to boost their clients,” Castro said in a briefing.
