A nine-year-old boy asked his father’s killers why they didn’t ‘just take his money’ as they were jailed for 17 years after fatally spiking his drink to steal from him.Alfie Mouat said the robbers had ‘destroyed’ his family and stolen from him the chance to enjoy ‘all the plans we had to do things together’.In a heart-wrenching statement he blamed Romanian killers Adina Mihai, 31, and Madalin Dumitru, 30, for depriving him of the basic pleasures of watching football and having his first beer with his father Gary, 36.The couple also killed a multi-millionaire big game hunter using the same method and adminstered the poison to another two men, who survived.Mihai posed as a sex worker over the internet to trick her way into Mr Mouat’s home in the market town of Banbury, Oxfordshire, between July 12 and 13 last year.Once inside she slipped a potent sedative in Mr Mouat’s wine glass and waited until he lapsed into unconsciousness, from which he never awoke.She then invited her lover Dumitru into the house to raid it of valuables including jewellery.Boyfriend and girlfriend Mihai and Dumitru were jailed at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday after admitting two counts of manslaughter and administering poison to two other men. While Mihai is at the address, Dumitru messages Mihai.July 13: A man arranges for Mihai to meet him at his address in the early hours. At around 6am, the victim messages Mihai accusing her of stealing his watch. Mr Mouat was later found dead at his Banbury home.July 22: A second man arranges for Mihai to visit him at his address and he later discovers items missing.July 30 to 31: A third man arranges for Mihai to meet at his address. Mihai and Dumitru communicate while she is in the property. At around 3.30am on July 31, police stopped the pair's car and arrested them for Mr Mouat's murder and conspiracy to steal.August 6: The pair are charged with a string of offences relating to the deaths of Mr King and Mr Mouat, and the two other men.June 24 2026: Mihai and Dumitru plead guilty to manslaughter and administering poisons before they were due to stand trial In a pre-recorded statement Alfie told them: ‘My dad was funny, silly, loving and a trickster, we always used to prank each other. ‘Why did you have to kill my dad? You could have just taken the money, he was really kind, he would have given it to you.‘Ever since my dad died my life has been really tough. I miss him every day and will never get to see him again. I will never be able to get another dad and that makes me feel so sad.‘You have ruined my life and all the plans we had to do things together. My family is destroyed now. I will never be able to go and watch a football game with my dad now.‘I won’t get to go have my first beer with him. I don’t know what my life will be like now, I always imagined my dad would be here.‘I will never get over my dad being killed, I will never forget him, and I will miss him for the rest of my life.
