Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, hosted the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Richard Montgomery, along with senior British diplomatic officials for talks on current affairs in the country.
Atiku’s aide, Kenneth Okonkwo, disclosed the engagement in a post on his X handle, saying the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate met “Montgomery, Head of Political Section, Lucy Green, and Second Secretary Political, Thomas Simpson.”
Okonkwo added that discussions focused on “current affairs in Nigeria” but did not disclose further details of the engagement or where it took place.
Pictures and video footage from the meeting show Atiku, dressed in traditional attire, exchanging greetings and handshakes with the visiting diplomats in a formal setting featuring Nigerian flags.
