Galatasaray said no to €130 million. That’s nearly double what they paid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen just over a year ago, and they didn’t even need to sleep on it.
Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal submitted the verbal offer through intermediaries on Wednesday, August 12, according to Sky Sport. Galatasaray’s response was swift and unambiguous: Osimhen is not for sale.
The math behind the rejection
Galatasaray acquired Osimhen from Napoli in July 2025 for a club-record €75 million. Turning down a bid that represents a 73% return on investment in roughly 13 months is the kind of decision that makes accountants nervous and sporting directors proud.
The striker’s contract runs through June 30, 2029, and critically, it contains no release clause. That detail gives Galatasaray all the leverage in any negotiation, or in this case, the leverage to simply not negotiate at all.
