Contract electronics maker Compal Electronics Inc (仁寶) yesterday said PC shipments are expected to fall by 15 to 17 percent year-on-year in the second half of the year, as rising memory chip prices weigh on consumer demand.Compal shipped 12.1 million PCs in the first half, down 14.2 percent from the same period last year, company data showed.Compal expects full-year shipments to decline by a mid-teens percentage from last year’s 28 million units, Compal president Anthony Peter Bonadero told an online earnings conference.
