Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Manchester City signed Belgian winger Jeremy Doku to a five-year contract extension, the English Premier League soccer franchise announced Thursday.

Doku's pact will keep him under contract with the Sky Blues through summer 2031. He joined the Sky Blues in 2023 from French Ligue 1 club Rennes.

Doku, 24, totaled 22 goals and 30 assists over his first 131 appearances for the Sky Blues. He logged 12 goals and nine assists over 91 appearances at Rennes. He also played for the Belgian club, Anderlecht, where he made his senior level debut in 2018.

"I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling," Doku told ManCity.com. "This club means so much to me -- I have developed as both a player and a person."
