Databricks just closed a funding round that values the company at $188 billion, making it one of the most valuable private companies on the planet. Coatue Management led the roughly $3 billion investment, which will fuel the company’s expanding portfolio of AI products and potentially fund acquisitions.

A valuation that keeps climbing

Databricks’ valuation history over the past two years reads like a hockey stick chart. The company was valued at $62 billion in late 2024. By August 2025, it had crossed the $100 billion threshold. December 2025 brought a $134 billion price tag.

And now, roughly five months later, it sits at $188 billion. That’s a 40% jump since December and a tripling since late 2024.

The financial performance backing those numbers is genuinely impressive. Databricks reports a revenue run rate exceeding $5.4 billion, with more than 65% year-over-year growth. The company has also reached positive free cash flow, a milestone that separates it from the long list of high-growth tech firms still burning cash to fuel expansion.
