The Andhra University organised a costume contest featuring freedom fighters at its National Service Scheme (NSS) Seminar Hall on Thursday as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations. Students dressed up as Chhatrapati Shivaji, Rani Lakshmibai and Rani Chennamma.The event was conducted by Student Welfare Affairs and the NSS. Dean of Student Welfare Affairs S. Harinath said: “Such competitions help promote patriotism and creativity among students.” NSS programme coordinator D. Simhachalam and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Mary Soujanya also spoke.Vijayaveni and EPS Bhagyalakshmi were the judges. NSS office staff also participated in the programme.
