The Kozhikode Town police on Thursday (August 13, 2026) arrested a 40-year-old man who allegedly sought sexual favours from a minor boy. The accused, identified as Jennet Job Kalappurackal, was charged under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and remanded in judicial custody. Police sources said the man contacted the boy through an Instagram account. Offering financial rewards, he tried to take him to a private lodge in Kozhikode city, the police said. The incident came to light when the minor boy approached the police for help. The accused was nabbed by a six-member crime squad during a search near Link Road.
