Home Minister V. Anitha checked complaints received through the newly launched ‘Abhaya’ complaint box at the Zilla Parishad High School in Nakkapalli. She assured students that their concerns would be addressed and that strict action would be taken against those troubling them.The complaint box, aimed at providing a safe and confidential channel for students, particularly girls, to bring their problems to the notice of the police, was set up at various schools as part of the Anakapalli police's 'Abhaya' programme which was launched last month, aimed at strengthening the safety of students and women and promoting confidence in the police.Later, the Home Minister visited the Nakkapalli Government Hospital and inspected various wards. She interacted with patients and enquired about the medical services and facilities being provided to them. During her visit to the paediatric ward, she interacted with children and distributed baby kits.Ms. Anitha said steps were being taken to upgrade the Nakkapalli Government Hospital into a 100-bed facility soon. She also announced that trauma care centres would be established at the hospital to provide better emergency medical services to people in the region.The Home Minister also launched 'Thalli Bidda' Express at the hospital. As part of the launch, she also travelled in the vehicle along with a woman, Lakshmi Durga, who had recently delivered a baby from the hospital to her native village of Konavanipalem.
