BNK FEARX swept Kiwoom DRX 2-0 on August 9 at LoL PARK in Seoul, climbing to the top of the LCK’s Rise Group in a match that carried serious playoff implications for both squads. The victory snapped a two-game skid for FEARX and dropped DRX deeper into the bottom half of the standings.

FEARX improved to 8-14 on the season while DRX slid to a rough 7-15. In the Rise Group, where five of the league’s lowest-performing teams fight for a shot at the postseason, every series win is the difference between playing on and packing up.

A Nidalee surprise and a Pantheon masterclass

Game 1 turned on an unconventional draft decision. FEARX pulled out what’s being called a “joker pick,” slotting Nidalee into the top lane. The pick disrupted DRX’s game plan early, forcing awkward lane matchups and giving FEARX tempo advantages they rode through the mid-game.

Game 2 belonged to Raptor Jeon Eo-jin. His Pantheon performance was the kind of individual carry that makes highlight reels and changes the trajectory of a team’s split.
