Ukrainian defence industry company DEMZ will invest in a new ammunition plant in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Ministry of the Economy and Innovation said Thursday.
The ministry said it would sign an investment agreement with the company for the major project.
“DEMZ will invest in a new ammunition plant in Lithuania, which will become a regional production and innovation centrr for the company, where new products meeting NATO standards will be developed and tested,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Defence will also sign a memorandum of understanding with DEMZ, according to the statement.
Elijus Čivilis, head of Invest Lithuania, the country’s investment promotion agency, previously told BNS that several Ukrainian defence industry investors had received approval from a government commission responsible for screening strategic transactions to operate in Lithuania.
