Lingasperi Madurai.
A courtroom clash at the Pinetown Regional Court sees the defence questioning the clarity of a newly drafted charge sheet in a R4.1 million fraud case involving a pastor's wife and five others.
The drama unfolded in the case of Lingasperi “Leigh” Madurai, the wife of Pastor Dhanapalan Madurai, her co-accused. The couple's daughter, Devaksha Mangaru, Vani Archari, Mehmood Cassim, and his wife, Zanab Cassim are the other accused in the matter.
It has been alleged that they defrauded P&A Fabricators, a Pinetown-based company.
The defence, which had received additional documents following a July request, informed the court that it had also received an amended charge sheet relating to the six accused. The amended charge sheet contained additional charges that were recently added against the accused.
