But that popularity hasn’t exactly translated to praise for the film.Directed by Louis Leterrier, the dystopian sci-fi thriller stars Greta Lee, Wagner Moura, Noah Sosnowski and Riley Chung as a family of four suddenly sealed inside their home. With no way to escape, they must band together to survive as their resources dwindle and a mysterious, looming threat keeps them trapped inside.According to Netflix’s Top 10 ratings, the film drew more than 27 million views in its first three days on the streamer, making it the most-watched title for the week of Aug. 3-9.Despite its impressive viewership, however, “The Last House” earned a low score of just 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. A handful of critics have also slammed the movie as “ridiculous,” “stifling,” “forgettable” and “perfectly terrible.”Some viewers have been equally unimpressed with the film, taking to social media to fire off their thoughts.
