Two previously announced TV projects are being put on hold at DC Studios.
Variety has confirmed that both the Amanda Waller standalone series with Viola Davis and “Paradise Lost,” which would serve as a prequel to “Wonder Woman,” are no longer in active development.
Reps for DC Studios declined to comment.
“Waller” was first reported to be in the works in May 2022, roughly five months before James Gunn and Peter Safran were named the heads of what became known as DC Studios. “Paradise Lost,” meanwhile, was unveiled as part of Gunn and Safran’s initial slate of DC projects in January 2023.
Waller would have seen Davis return as the character she played in both David Ayer and Gunn’s “Suicide Squad” films. “Paradise Lost” would have taken place on the island of Themyscira before the birth of Wonder Woman. It should be noted that neither project was ever ordered to series.
