A 64-year-old man, Abubakar Aliyu, on Wednesday confessed to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl at his medicine shop in Arawa Quarters, Gombe.
Our correspondent reports that the suspect is a grandfather with several grandchildren.
Aliyu, who was arrested following a report by the child’s mother, admitted to the act during questioning by security operatives.
The suspect, who was paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Public Relations Officer, CSC Saad Buhari, said the minor came to his shop at night to buy drugs and that the incident occurred on three occasions.
