The opposition party said the ruling APC sees elections as war while normalising the blood of Nigerians as the price for political power.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned controversial remarks by Osun State Senator Francis Fadahunsi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in which he allegedly threatened to kill, accusing the ruling party of promoting a dangerous political culture in which violence is being normalised ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The opposition party said the ruling APC sees elections as war while normalising the blood of Nigerians as the price for political power.
The PDP, in a statement issued on Wednesday, by its National Publicity Secretary of the Interim National Working Committee, Ini Ememobong, said Nigerians and the international community received with shock the video in which Fadahunsi, ahead of August 15 governorship election in Osun State, declared, “So, we have come to tell you, up till the day of the election, if we see them, it is killing.”
The opposition party described the statement as “uncivilised and appalling”. However, it said it is consistent with what it described as a pattern of warlike rhetoric associated with the APC and its political leadership.
