Supreme Court-appointed Sub-Committee members at Mullaperiyar dam site near Thekkady in Kerala on Wednesday.

The members of the Sub-Committee of Mullaperiyar dam, comprising officials of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), inspected the dam on Wednesday and expressed satisfaction over its safety and the storage level.The team, headed by Southern Region Director R. Giridhar of the NDSA and comprising officials from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, visited the dam as the water level at the dam reached 123 feet. The officials inspected the main dam, baby dam, earthen dam, gallery area, storage level, seepage level and shutter operation.At the consultation meeting held after the inspection, the officials from Tamil Nadu emphasised the need to strengthen the baby dam and repair the damaged road between Vallakkadavu and Mullaperiyar dam.
