A round-the-clock emergency medical centre was inaugurated on Wednesday at platform no. 1 of the Visakhapatnam railway station.Established via an MoU between the railways and Pinnacle Hospitals, the facility offers basic first aid and emergency care at minimal charges. Manned 24/7 by a doctor, pharmacist, and assistant, it is equipped with wheelchairs, stretchers, medical oxygen, a defibrillator, and an on-call ambulance service.Divisional railway manager Lalit Bohra, chief medical superintendent Dr. Sharath Babu, cardiologist Dr. G.V. Reddy, medical superintendent Dr. Krishna Nayak, and hospital administrator Ms. Ch. Indira inspected the facility, which aims to provide immediate medical assistance to travellers.
