In an effort to streamline the commuting experience for passengers arriving at Visakhapatnam Railway Station, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has launched a dedicated Rapido pickup booking facility on the station premises.
The initiative is designed to provide a smooth, comfortable, and hassle-free onward journey for travellers navigating the city.
The new Rapido Pickup Point was formally inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra.
Rapido, a bike taxi service provider that has operated in Visakhapatnam since 2018, is expected to serve approximately 8,000 to 10,000 passengers through this specific facility. The primary goal is to provide seamless last-mile connectivity from the station to various residential and commercial hubs across the city.
Addressing the media during the launch, Lalit Bohra pointed out that inaccurate Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) readings on digital platforms often led to frustration, as riders shown to be nearby were frequently still in transit, resulting in longer actual wait times.
