The police have charged the two persons who were detained following the seizure of 200 rounds of ammunition during an operation along Fairfield Road in St James. Thirty-two-year-old Jermaine Graham, a deliveryman of Roehampton district in Anchovy, and 23-year-old Shamoy Staple, a teller of Paradise in Norwood, both in St James, have been charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition, stockpiling of prohibited weapons, possession of a prohibited weapon, dealing in prohibited weapons, and trafficking in prohibited weapons. Their court date is being finalised. The incident happened on Thursday, August 6. The police report that about 2:50 p.m., a team from the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division, acting on investigative leads, intercepted a white Toyota Voxy motor vehicle along Fairfield Road, St James, with Graham and Staple aboard. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and four ammunition boxes containing a total of 200 9mm rounds were found on the floor on the driver's side of the vehicle. Both individuals were taken into custody. They were subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of their attorneys.
