MANILA, Philippines — Protesters trooped in front of the Sandiganbayan on Wednesday to condemn the anti-graft court division’s move to allow former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.’s temporary freedom, as he still faces a malversation case.
Tindig Pilipinas, along with the Mamamayang Liberal, August Twenty One movement and other groups, staged a brief program in front of the court while Revilla’s trial in the anti-graft court’s Third Division was ongoing.

Revilla faces a malversation of public funds case as an alleged co-conspirator in the illegal disbursement of P76.9 million for a purported ghost flood control project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Bulacan’s Pandi town worth P92.8 million, supposedly in exchange for a 25-percent kickback. He has denied the accusation.
