Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Ekeinde has revealed that her movie ‘A Mother’s Love’ grossed N103,094,633 during its cinema run, but only N22 million accrued to the producers after various deductions.
Omotola made the disclosure in a video shared online, where she gave an account of the movie’s cinema journey and the financial returns from its theatrical release.
According to the actress, the film’s total cinema gross was reduced significantly after deductions involving exhibitors, distributors, print and advertising, Value Added Tax (VAT), entertainment tax, withholding tax and other expenses.
“At the end of our run, we had made N103,094,633,” Omotola said, explaining that after the various deductions, the amount accrued to the producers was N22 million.
