Uefa have confirmed that Israel’s ‘home’ Nations League fixture against the Republic of Ireland in Hungary on September 27th will be open to spectators. The FAI, however, will not request a ticket allocation for the 20,000 capacity Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen.Due to ongoing security concerns, Israel have played all their home internationals at neutral venues, mainly in Hungary, since October 2023. Over 2,000 fans attended their Nations League games in Budapest against Italy in 2024 and France last year.The FAI moved Ireland’s ‘home’ game against Israel on October 4th to Bačka Topola, a remote Serbian town, 140 kilometres from Belgrade airport, with the match to be played behind closed doors.The FAI have been approached for comment on Irish fans that intend to travel to Hungary. The Israeli FA have been asked to supply their ticketing plans around the September 27th fixture.Stop The Game, the pro Palestinian protest group, have intimated that they intend to disrupt the Nations League match against Austria on October 1st as it falls between the two Israeli fixtures that they have called on the FAI to boycott.
