The A's have been free-falling out of the American League for over a month now, and it seems like the season is over. Now the team will have to pivot to getting ready to build a contending squad, in hopes of becoming a playoff team before they play their inaugural season in Las Vegas in 2028.One of the big moves recently was the A's parting ways with their General Manager, David Forst. Rom, 26, has pitched in nearly 40 big-league innings in a pair of seasons with the Brew Crew and the St. Louis Cardinals.Unfortunately, it has not been all sunshine and rainbows for Rom in the big leagues, as he posted an abysmal 8.02 ERA in 33.2 innings last year in St. Louis. This season, he's had more success. Rom posted a 2.20 ERA in 41 innings this season in Triple-A. Hogan Harris has been great all season, and they got a hot run out of Jose Suarez for a while, but he's cooled down tremendously since.The team added Scott Blewett about a week ago, and he's been solid since joining the Green and Gold.
