Textile manufacturer Gokaldas Exports reported a 7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in profit after tax (PAT) to ₹44 crore for the first quarter of FY27, while total income rose 21 per cent to ₹1,180 crore. The growth came despite a 12 per cent YoY decline in Indian apparel exports during the quarter, with Gokaldas benefiting from higher order execution and realisations in its India business. Total income from India grew 16 per cent YoY.The company’s Africa business was another key growth driver, with income rising 45 per cent YoY on the back of higher volumes following the renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).“Better order execution in India and higher volume in Africa led to a strong income growth in the quarter. The Company has come out of penal tariff and now enjoys parity with global peers, which allows it to compete on a level playing field for business,” said Sivaramakrishnan Ganapathi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gokaldas Exports. He added that a focus on productivity gains and a strong order book should support growth and margins going forward.Published on August 12, 2026
