Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt rued conceding “soft goals” in their 3-3 draw with Polokwane City and implored his team to improve their defence moving forward in the Betway Premiership.
It was a topsy-turvy affair at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane, with the hosts grabbing an early lead through Giovanni Philander before the Maroons struck back through goals from Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Devin Titus to put the visitors 2-1 up.
But the lead changed hands again when Surprise Manthosi equalised, before Raymond Daniels put City back ahead with 15 minutes remaining.
Manthosi’s goal, in particular, was due to poor defending at a corner, with Stellies goalkeeper Sage Stephens flapping at the ball being delivered into the box.
