The incident took place at around 3 am, DCP Ganesh Shinde said.“Due to the rain, a landslide has occurred in the Ashoknagar area under the jurisdiction of the Ghatkopar police. Two bodies have been recovered so far, and rescue operation is underway. Police personnel are deployed here, along with all the necessary teams for the rescue operation—including officials from the BMC, NDRF, and other agencies. It happened around 3 AM. Around 4–5 people are likely trapped,” Shinde told news agency ANI.Two dead, two injured so farOfficials said that two people have suffered injuries in the incident so far and have been identified as Sohel Ansari, 18, and Mohamad Ansari, 14. Both have been taken to a hospital for treatment where they are said to be in a stable condition. The two deceased have been identified as Sahil Ansari, 28, and Mohamad Samir, 14, who were declared brought dead at Rajawadi Hospital.
