The wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to restoring dignity and providing economic opportunities for widows and senior citizens in the state.
The governor’s wife disclosed during an event mark the 2026 International Widows Day.
Speaking during the event with the theme, ‘Justice, Dignity and Economic Power for Widows’, Otti said widowhood should not translate to hardship, stressing that justice for windows is a moral obligation and not charity.
She also announced an empowerment 600 indigent widows with N50,000 business support grants.
