Carry The Load Announces 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance

The public can register to participate in volunteer opportunities with more than 100 national cemeteries

National nonprofit Carry The Load opened registration for its 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, presented byGovernment Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A). The initiative offers the public a chance to honor our nation’s heroes and the lives of those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, by providing volunteer opportunities at more than 140 cemeteries across the nation, including over 100 participating national cemeteries.

In partnership with the National Cemetery Administration, the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance will be observed nationwide on Saturday, Sept. 12 to allow maximum participation from the public. Volunteer activities revolve around beautification efforts at each cemetery, which are largely managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
