A 32-YEAR-OLD businessman who was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with a surety when he appeared before Master Tracey Vidale on Friday.The accused, Adrian Brown, was ordered to reside at his home address as a condition of bail and to report to a designated police station at a specified time, three times per week.The matter was transferred to the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court and postponed to August 14, 2026.Brown was charged following a special investigation conducted by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad into a silver Nissan AD Wagon which was seized at the Licensing Authority, Caroni, on May 9, 2024, after officers detected suspected tampering with its chassis and engine numbers.An in-depth investigation was subsequently conducted in collaboration with the Licensing Authority. Investigators were able to establish the vehicle’s true identity and determined that it was a silver Nissan AD Wagon which had been reported stolen in the Western Division on April 16, 2024.The investigation led officers to Brown, who was arrested on August 4, 2026.The accused was charged with the offence of possession of a stolen vehicle by WPC Villafana, of the Stolen Vehicles Squad, who conducted investigations into the matter.The investigation was spearheaded by Snr Supt Pariman and Supt De Mattos and directly supervised by Ag Asst Supt Lazarus and Sgts Hosein and Fenton.
