A total of 19,526 seats were filled in MBA and MCA programmes through the first phase of TGICET-2026 web-based counselling for the academic year 2026-27. Of the 36,241 seats available across 401 institutions, 54% were filled, and 16,715 seats remained vacant.MBA programmes recorded a higher occupancy rate of 57% with 16,896 of 29,457 seats filled. MCA programmes saw 39% or 2,630 of 6,784 seats.Among MBA institutions, government colleges recorded the highest occupancy at 95%, followed by university institutions at 84% and private colleges at 55%.
